Jack Richards was a remarkable athlete, dedicated aspiring lineman, and loyal friend. A 2020 graduate of Royal High School, he excelled in Taekwondo, water polo, and wrestling—earning honors such as CIF Champion and two-time State qualifier. Beyond his achievements, Jack was known for his compassion, resilience, and unwavering support for others.
After high school, Jack graduated from Northwest Lineman College in 2021, pursuing his dream of becoming a union lineman. Tragically, he died by suicide in July 2023. In his memory, we founded the Jack Richards Athletic Memorial Scholarship Fund to carry forward his legacy of strength, service, and brotherhood.
Our mission is to support students who demonstrate perseverance, community commitment, and integrity—qualities Jack embodied. Originally created for graduating seniors in the Simi Valley Unified School District, the program has since expanded to include students at Moorpark College, broadening its impact.
The Memorial Scholarship provides:
We aim to uplift students facing personal or financial challenges, especially those impacted by mental health struggles—honoring Jack’s legacy of empathy and camaraderie.
Reflecting Jack’s passion for linework, the fund also supports those pursuing careers in the electrical line trade who exemplify his values of resilience, service, and brotherhood. Recently, we expanded our mission with annual scholarship offerings at Northwest Lineman College, where Jack trained and graduated. These awards:
In honor of Jack. In support of each other. In strength and in brotherhood.
Through every scholarship awarded, we continue Jack’s legacy—uplifting those who serve others, lead with heart, and always show up when it matters most.
